Professional Women in Advocacy recognized Carolyn T. Elliott, senior vice president of Bose Public Affairs Group LLC, with an honorable mention award at its national conference in Washington, D.C. on Dec. 9.
 
Organizers of the Professional Women in Advocacy Conference presented Elliott with an excellence in advocacy award in the category of Veteran Practitioner for her “integrity, intellect and devotion” to her clients. Elliott was nominated for the award by several clients and elected officials, including Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann and former Lt. Gov. Becky Skillman, CEO and president of Radius Indiana. 
 
The Professional Women in Advocacy Conference is designed to teach, inspire and elevate women working in government relations, public affairs, community relations, public policy and legislation. Organizers recognized excellence in advocacy and presented awards in five categories: federal issue campaign, state issue campaign, campaign for women serving women, veteran practitioner and up and coming practitioner
 
Active in the political arena since 1990, Elliott has established herself in Indiana’s government affairs sector, concentrating on issues involved in pharmaceuticals, law enforcement, library, information technology, transportation, licensure, education, environment, agribusiness, economic development and health care legislation.
 
An active member in the community, Elliott served on the Board of the Indiana 4-H Foundation. Additionally, she is also a member of the Governmental Affairs Society of Indiana, Delta Theta Tau philanthropic sorority and Friends of the Putnam County Library. Elliott attended Purdue University and graduated from Indiana University with high distinction.
