The CARES Act

The CARES Act, signed by President Trump on March 27, 2020, estimated to cost $2 trillion, is the largest authorization and appropriation of federal spending in American history. It covers a vast array of federal programs, including direct financial assistance to Americans, a significant expansion of unemployment insurance, billions in aid to businesses large and small and a new wave of critical funding for the health care industry, tasked with combatting the virus.
