Profile
Emily Wilson serves as a vice president of strategic communications at Bose Public Affairs Group. Emily has vast experience serving local, regional and national clients in wide-ranging fields including life sciences, health care, education, technology, and economic development. Emily’s specialties include building and managing coalitions, strategic planning, media relations, advocacy, reputation management, and crisis communications. Emily is also a member of the Bose McKinney & Evans and Bose Public Affairs Group Diversity Committee.
Prior to joining Bose Public Affairs Group, Emily led national corporate accounts at a public relations agency. In this role, Emily directed a team to execute strategic communications plans and secure favorable worldwide media coverage for clients.
Earlier in her career, Emily managed international marketing and publicity efforts for the world’s largest education publisher to obtain placements with top-tier media outlets including CBS This Morning, Newsweek, ABC News and Politico.
Honors / Awards
Emily is a recipient of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) East Central District’s highest distinction, the Best in Show Diamond award, for public affairs. She has also earned Pinnacle Awards for crisis communications and media relations, as well as Awards of Honor for media relations and public affairs from the PRSA Hoosier Chapter.
During her graduate studies at Indiana University, Emily was awarded the Cushman Fellowship in Journalism for academic achievement. As an undergraduate student at Hanover College, Emily was the recipient of the Dorothy S. Bucks Award in English, which recognizes the top Hanover College English student as nominated by the English department’s faculty. In addition, while attending Hanover College, Emily earned the unprecedented distinction as a two-year recipient of the annual Shanklin English Scholarship.
Education
Emily is a graduate of Hanover College with a bachelor’s degree in English literature, and a graduate of Indiana University with a master’s degree in journalism.
Appointments / Memberships
Emily serves on the board of directors for the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Indiana Chapter. She also serves on the board of the Starfish Initiative and is the chair of the organization’s development and marketing committee. She is a member of United Way Emerging Leaders and Women United. Emily is also active in the PRSA Hoosier Chapter and Indianapolis chapter of the American Marketing Association.
